Chris started dog training
in 1969 with his Shetland Sheepdog winning out of Pre. Beg. Beginners
and Novice. He started Instructing in 1970 and continued in competing
Obedience with his Border Collie Fly gaining a few places in the Ch.
C arena. Followed by success in Novice and Class A with his BC
Meryl until a spell of ill health stopped Chris from competing
seriously.
I
have also been an Obedience Judge for the past 35 years starting at
Companion Dog Show level up to and including Ch. C Obedience, during
this time I have also acted as Show secretary, ring Steward ,
scoreboard , scribe and Chief Stay Steward I have also acted as Examiner
at all levels of the KCGCDS on numerous occasions at various clubs and
societies
I have been a Senior
instructor at various clubs over 30 years
I have organized my own
courses for Instructors, Judges, Stewards, Show Sec. also attended BIPDT
Courses passing at both graduate and advanced levels.
I ran my own Dog Training
Classes in Letchworth 19721975 and was the founder member of Letchworth
DTC (1983) and now run my own club Canine Training Academy in my home
town of Stotfold in North Hertfordshire. I was also a founder member
of Watling Section of English Shetland Sheepdog Club (Secretary) 1976
and founder Member of East Anglia Border Collie Club. 1979 organising
with others their Obedience programmes..
I have run several one
day obedience training courses / workshops for various breed clubs i.e.
Labradors Shetland Sheepdogs and also for Dog Training Clubs.
I
have been an Examiner / Assessor on various Instructor courses DTI and
BIPDT for many years.
I have taught all
exercises included in the KC. Obedience related classes. G. Regs.
KCGCDS Puppy Foundation - Bronze Silver and Gold,
I have also taught Agility and Flyball
albeit at pet level.
